The Ophthalmology Department is providing comprehensive facilities to treat every kind of eye disease including Probing syringing, Xanthelasma Excision, pterygium Excision with Stem cell graft. It provides outdoor consultation six days a week. The Ophthalmology Department is equipped with the modern diagnostic as well as surgical facilities for anterior segment (phacoemulsification), posterior segment (vasectomy, RAS etc.) Argon Laser and endoscopic DCR.
We are performing cataract surgery on day care bases. Furthermore all major surgeries are done under general, local & topical Anesthesia. The busy outdoors and indoors provide students an ample chance to examine the maximum number of cases and participate actively in the management of diseases
The Department is headed by Prof. Aarif Hussain (MBBS, DOMS, FCPS). The department is supported by well experienced and qualified faculty to train undergraduate medical students.
The Department is well equipped to perform routine eye operations and procedures like phacoemulsification for small incision cataract surgery, vitrectomy for posterior segment surgery, laser YAG for capsulotomy and Argon laser for diabetic retinopathy. The department is also working towards establishing corneal transplant procedures and vitreoretinal services.
