The department of Medicine at Pak Red Crescent Teaching Hospital is responsible for providing efficient medical and health care facilities to the local population as well as to the people from the outskirts of southern Lahore and district Kasur. The medical unit comprises of a team of highly qualified and well trained medical doctors and nursing staff. It has ICU, and Endoscopy suites. The Outpatient facility includes General Medicine, Psychiatry and Dermatology. The Gastroenterology Unit has well equipped Endoscopy suites where a wide range of diagnostic and procedures are performed on daily basis.
Prof. Dr. Azhar Shah, (MBBS, MRCP, FRCP) is the head of Department Medicine and Allied. He has vast teaching experience to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Prof. Dr. Waseem Iqbal (Vice Principal) is another faculty member who is working as a Professor of Medicine in this Department. This Department is a highly specialized unit with well-established sub-specialties of Pulmonology, Nephrology, Cardiology, Dermatology and Psychiatry which have a proficient working for provision of student training and patient care. The Department has six days a week OPD, two consultant clinics, male and female general wards, medical section in ICU and two demonstration rooms for students.
