The department of Anesthesiology and pain management has been functional ever since Pak Red Crescent Teaching Hospital was established in 2012. The department has formulated policies and practices in accordance with Pakistan Medical Dental Council, Punjab Health Care Commission and College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan. Trained and highly qualified staff is available to manage the patients proposed for surgery right from the pre-operative to post-operative period. The department works in complete harmony with all other departments. For optimization of the patient`s condition pre-operatively, consultation facilities with different medical disciplines is readily available. It is fully equipped with latest technology & equipment to deal with all emergencies and calamities round the clock. The department of anesthesiology facilitates its members to attend seminars, workshops & CME courses regularly in order to keep its staff abreast with the latest developments in the field of Anesthesiology.
The Department is headed by Prof. Dr. Kahlid Javed Butt (MBBS, MCPS, FCPS) who has a vast specialty experience. He has attended numerous workshops and seminars related to the specialty. Experienced and well trained medical and technical staff works under his supervision. The Department is well established and fully equipped with state of the art equipment to cater all kind of anesthesia and intensive care facilities. Each operation theatre has fully equipped anesthesia workstation and monitoring devices
